All of our fixed routes and EZ Trans paratransit services are fare-free starting March 1, 2022.
Services:
The Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority (MVRTA) Office of Special Services provides an array of transportation services to include the following: ADA and Non-ADA EZ Trans services, Ring & Ride services for residents of Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Newbury/Byfield, North Reading, West Newbury, the Maris Center in Amesbury and along the Route 28 corridor.
Medi-Ride transportation service is also available for registered MVRTA Office of Special Services customers providing transportation service from the MVRTA service area to the Lahey Clinic in Peabody, and to hospitals in the City of Boston to their medical appointments.
The MVRTA Office of Special Services provides origin-to-destination services with MVRTA lift-equipped vehicles and is intended to safely and efficiently accommodate as many passengers per trip as possible.
These services are:
- Reliable and economic public transportation
- Shared ride services
- Advance reservation services, which must be booked at least 1-2 days in advance depending on the services you are requesting
- Origin to Destination services
These services are not:
- Ambulance services
- Taxi services
- Emergency services
- On-call services
Service is not available on: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, Patriots’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
